This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Recollr (the "App") and our website at recollr.com (the "Website").

2.1 Personal Information

When you create an account, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Display name — optionally provided for personalization.
  • Authentication data — if you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

2.2 User-Generated Content

The core function of Recollr is to help you save and organize information. This includes:

  • Saved links — URLs and associated metadata (titles, descriptions, thumbnails) that you save through the App or Share Extension.
  • Notes — text content you create within the App.
  • Journal entries — personal journal content you write.
  • Reminders — reminder titles, dates, and times you set.
  • Tags and categories — organizational labels you create or assign.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information — device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage data — features used, time spent in the App, and crash reports.
  • Network information — connection type (Wi-Fi or cellular) for sync optimization.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's functionality.
  • Sync your data securely across devices via cloud backup.
  • Authenticate your identity and protect your account.
  • Generate your personalized 3D Knowledge Graph.
  • Enrich saved links with metadata (titles, descriptions, images) automatically.
  • Send you important service-related communications (e.g., security alerts, feature updates).
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve App performance.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

4.1 Local-First Architecture

Recollr is built with a local-first architecture. Your data is stored primarily on your device and works fully offline. Cloud sync is optional and used to back up your data securely.

4.2 Cloud Storage

When cloud sync is enabled, your data is stored on Supabase, a secure, enterprise-grade database platform hosted on AWS. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).

4.3 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • End-to-end encryption for data in transit.
  • Secure authentication via Supabase Auth (email/password and OAuth).
  • Row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
  • Face ID / biometric authentication support on the device level.
  • Regular security audits and dependency updates.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account:

  • All cloud-synced data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Local data on your device will remain until you uninstall the App.
  • Anonymized, aggregated data (that cannot identify you) may be retained for analytics purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data.
  • Data portability — export your data in a standard format (JSON) using the App's built-in Export Backup feature.

Recollr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately. 10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to such countries. We ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
